Could anyone recommend a universal remote that works with my equipment?

August 30th, 2010 Comments off

Question by Ben S: Could anyone recommend a universal remote that works with my equipment?
Ok, we have upgraded our home theater equipment over the past week and I’m wondering if there is some sort of remote that would be able to handle all of the equipment. Now we are up to 4 remotes which gets a bit annoying (especially when watching TV which requires use of 3 of them at once). Anyway here is what I would like to have a single remote for:

Bose Lifestyle Audio System (I believe it is 48 Series II, but I can’t be sure because I cant find the model information on the console)
Comcast DVR (Motorola DCT6416III)
Sony Playstation 3 (For Blu-Ray Discs, not absolutely necessary, but would be nice)
Sony Bravia HDTV (KDL-52W4100)

If anyone could make some suggestions as to what would work with this, it would be greatly appreciated. Price isn’t really a factor as long as the remote will get the job done.

i would go with either the harmony 870 or the harmony 1, they are both really great remotes and should do everything that you want them to. the harmony 870 has IR capabilities so you can really control anything from anywhere. both are very easy to set up and are computer based. you can purchase them at Best Buy

Question by Rob: Wii Remote?
I have had been having a difficult time with my Wii Remote. I recently rented it from my local video store. Anyway i keep getting the error message “Communications with the Wii Remote have been interuppted…” It sometimes happens back to back to back or once every 5-10 mins. It has been used. Anyway is this because it was abused by the person that used it before me or does this happen with all wii’s this often. BTW it is with all the games, and i am laying/standing a good 4-5 feet away from the radar.
adding new batteries didn’t help
it occurs more in spasms i’ll have a good 10-15 minutes of game play then 5-7 mins of this
pleas help
